The Celebrity Chef event series features local chef-prepared menus, donated by each chef, with proceeds benefiting Taste Community Restaurant in Arlington. Taste Project is a 501(c)3 non-profit established to feed, educate, and serve our community so they may “…taste and see the Lord is good”. About Chef Moose Benhamacht
Renowned Chef Mouhssine ‘Moose’ Benhamacht has a long history of working with award-winning chefs and restaurants. Born in Teflit, Morocco, Chef Moose boasts expertise in French, Mediterranean, Pacific Rim, and Asian cuisines influenced by the international flavors served at Meraki Market, known as a “temple of food disguised as a market,” in San Francisco. Prior to San Francisco, Chef Mouhssine honed in on California cuisine while working with some of the world’s best ingredients, sustainable farmers, and cattle ranchers in the heart of Napa Valley, one of the world’s most renowned wine regions. While in Napa, Chef Mouhssine oversaw all the culinary programming for restaurants and bars at the Meritage Resort.
Most recently, Chef Moose transitioned from Loews Hotels where he spent a total of seven years in Loews properties across the country. This includes the most recent position of Opening Executive Chef for both Live! by Loews Arlington Hotel and the Loews Arlington and Convention Center. On March 16, 2024, Chef Moose introduced his first independent project, Cafe Americana, to Arlington.
